RESEARCH INTERESTS
Our goal is to understand the signaling pathways involved in cell communication in bone cells. We focus on how alterations in signaling can alter metabolism, pathophysiology, and bone regeneration, with the aim of finding new therapies for skeletal pathologies by modification of these pathways.
The group has long-standing recognition in areas of expertise that include:
-
Bone pathophysiology, bone regeneration and osseointegration:
-
Metabolic reprogramming in bone development.
-
Pathophysiology and therapeutic alternatives for the treatment of progressive ossifying fibrodysplasia (FOP).
-
Stem cells and scaffold generation as a therapeutic strategy for bone tissue engineering.
